Twitter Workshop Series // BUSINESS 489

Natan Edelsburg, VP, Sawhorse Media

Next session meets Thursday, September 1st from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. Repeats every Thursday through September 15th.

This intensive Twitter workshop series was designed to turn Twitter beginners into capable account managers. All four sessions are ideal for students who have created an account and use it occasionally, but want to learn more about why they should be using it, what to tweet about, and how Twitter can help their business.

Students will learn how to optimize their Twitter presence, incorporate buttons onto their websites, track growth, to find and follow the right people, and of course, to critique each others' individual presence by giving helpful solutions for one's improvement.

The course will draw from the instructor's social media expertise, combining best practices and relevant case studies, which will be tailored to the students' own industries.

Students should bring their laptop or smartphone to class.

SCHEDULE

Session One (8/25): Optimizing Your Presence on Twitter

What you say through social media is undeniably important, but equally so is your overall presence. Your bio and photo are symbiotic with the content of your tweets, and the collective package can determine your popularity (or lack thereof). Learn about effective backgrounds and links, and discuss methods for gaining valuable followers.

Session Two (9/1): Twitter on Your Website

An API is an indispensable way for programs to communicate with one another. You'll be using this to incorporate your Twitter account with your personal website or product, expanding your social media footprint by installing tweet buttons on your website or blog.

Session Three (9/8): Tracking Clicks and Growth on Twitter

How do you track your visitors? How much time does one dedicate to monitoring clicks and growth?  This class will strategize appropriate tools, and provide easy explanations for setting up these programs on your devices.

Session Four (9/15): Twitter Strategy

So you have an idea for tweet content, and you want to start trending. Creating effective content is key to getting your voice heard. Increase your interactive presence by learning how to set up Twitter chat, how to leverage trending topics, and how to make connections with influential figures.
